Danny and I were running pals at North Junior High. I looked forward to spending the night at his house because I got to see his sister Marilyn run around in her nightie. We used to take a wagon full of fishing gear and hot dogs to cook at the Lake Waco Spillway on the weekends. We hid out in the water forged "caves" and went up top to throw dirt clods at the "parkers". I witnessed him rescuing 2 brothers who struggled to stay up in an attemp to swim to and climb the algae covered cement spillway. I was in awe of him because he was brave and capable of saving two people from possible drowning.

We drifted apart in High School and then reconnected in the late 80's when I was on a business trip to Taiwan. Danny worked and lived there with his wife and son. I was thrilled to see him attend the 20th reunion. I was so proud of what he had accomplished in life after his down days after high school. I have strong regrets that I did not try to contact him personally in the 30th reunion search effort. Had I known the struggles he faced then, maybe I could have made a difference in his life at that time. His funeral was very emotional for me.

I will always remember the campouts, laughs and good times with Danny.

I too had a good friendship and have some fond memeories of Danny thatI guess again, would have faded until I saw the indication of his death. Loved his laugh and his wit. I will be saying a special prayer for him and a few others I knew from back in the day!
